I'm a math tutor with a degree in the subject and plans to become an actuary in the future. As a student, I always liked helping classmates by clarifying concepts for them, and this led me to tutoring. I went to a K - 12 school, and I was able to serve as a tutor in an official capacity there. I tutored through college as well. Math is an interesting subject to tutor because it builds cumulatively, and if students miss something along the way they can get lost. I help students figure out where they need gaps in their learning filled, and I also explain subjects by connecting concepts in math to each other. I customize my approach for each student I work with based on their needs and learning style. I want my students to leave every session with more confidence than they had coming in. In my free time, I enjoy yoga, weightlifting, riding my bike, camping, crocheting, cooking, reading, and spending time with friends.
